Lukas Nelson Drops Music Video for “Alcohallelujah”

Can we get an Alcohallelujah? Lukas Nelson has just shared the music video to his new song of the same name. The quirky visual for the boozed-up anthem “Alcohallelujah” arrives just ahead of Nelson’s forthcoming album Sticks and Stones, the follow-up release to the 2021 album A Few Stars Apart. Unfolding against ripping electric country blues, the video, awash in a vintage sheen, illustrates the rise and fall of a good timin’ man.

Father, I must make me a confession / Forgive me, Father, for I’ve been inspired / I got bars and bars of melodies and memories / May this spirit lift me ever higher, Nelson croons in his well-worn warble. Can I get an alchohallelujah? / I’m drinkin’ on a prayer / Prayin’ you ain’t lying when you say you care.

Backed by his longtime band Promise of the Real, Nelson’s forthcoming 12-track country-rock album will feature the rollicking tune along with the previously released Lainey Wilson duet “More Than Friends.”

“This album is about celebrating the human connection, joy and excitement,” the artist shared of the forthcoming release in a statement. “We went from quiet and introspective on A Few Stars Apart to something big and fun to really showcase the band’s talent and performance. You can listen to the album Sticks and Stones from start to finish and get the songs to dance to and then the quiet, poignant songs. To me, this album is the perfect setlist.”

Sticks and Stones is set to arrive on Friday, July 14. See a full track list below.
