Luke Bryan Addresses Fan Who Hit Him in the Face During North Dakota Performance, Takes the High Road

With a long career in country music, Luke Bryan knew what it was like to have fans throw items at him. For the most part, the items consisted of clothing, a hat, or even a shoe. But when performing at the North Dakota State Fair on Saturday, the country singer found himself on the receiving end of a ball. And to make it worse, Bryan didn’t see it coming as it struck him right in the face. Not skipping a beat, the singer continued to perform. But with the video shared online, Bryan discussed the viral moment and his reaction.

Performing several songs during his set, Bryan decided to end the night with “Country Girl (Shake It for Me)”. While the concert seemed to be a success, the final song caught the singer off guard when one fan hit him in the face with a ball. Speaking with Taste of Country Nights about the incident, he said, “It’s the last song of the night. It was a big ole fun party, and I think one person just took it too far.”

Luke Bryan Promises “We See It”

For now, the individual who threw the ball remained unknown. But with a sea of Bryan fans at the concert, it’s only a matter of time. Still, Bryan admitted he never saw the person. “I mean, if I saw him throw it, I could have gone right to him. I probably would have jumped right off in there.”

While Bryan had every right to jump off the stage, he focused more on those around him than himself. “If I jump off in there … there were a lot of little kids down there. At that point, if I’d even stopped it and pointed somebody out, it kills the vibe of the show.”

Not wanting the unruly fan to ruin it for the rest, Bryan buried his feelings and continued with his hit 2011 song written alongside Dallas Davidson.

Taking the hit like a pro, Bryan offered a glimpse from the stage. Able to see the entire crowd, he insisted, “We see it. Every other entertainer out there is getting stuff — you get stuff thrown at ya.”

With Bryan able to see the items thrown at him, he also looked for the person behind the action. “You hope that you can see who did it.”
