New Country and Americana Albums for July 26, 2024: New Music from Charley Crockett, Red Clay Strays, & More

We’ve come to the end of another long work week. However, this isn’t just any week. Today is the final New Music Friday of July. We’ve got a heap of new country and Americana albums to help finish the month. While this week’s list doesn’t contain any “big names” in the mainstream country sphere, there is plenty of good music. This week’s offerings fall under the “if you know you know” category.

Fans of independent country and Americana will find plenty of albums to love. In truth, they’ve likely been counting the days until bands like American Aquarium and Red Clay Strays released their new records. Charley Crockett, arguably the hardest-working and coolest artist in country music today went rogue and dropped his newest collection on Monday (July 22). In short, for those who are willing to dig, there is plenty of good music.

Standout Albums

There’s plenty to love in this week’s list of new Country and Americana albums. For instance, Lance Roark dropped a stunning EP in Tenkiller. Yarn also sits near the top of the stack with Born, Blessed, Grateful, & Alive. However, this week’s standout albums come from predictable places. Charley Crockett has been in the business for nearly a decade and has already proved that he doesn’t miss. The Red Clay Strays haven’t been around as long. However, they’re already a band to watch.

Crockett channels classic country, R&B, and the sounds of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast to create one of the most unique sounds in the genre today. Add that musical alchemy to an air-tight band and one of the best storytellers in the business today and you’ve got a recipe for a series of nearly untouchable albums. That recipe is cooked to perfection on Visions of Dallas.

Standout Tracks: “Killers of the Flower Moon” “Visions of Dallas” “Crystal Chandeliers and Burgundy”

The Red Clay Strays released their sophomore album Made by These Moments today, solidifying their place as one of the most buzzworthy bands in the Americana sphere. From boot-stomping rockers to slow, introspective tracks, the new album has it all.

The new album from the country-rock group is a study of the human condition. When listened to from front to back, the album has an ebb and flow of sorrow and redemption that mirrors the ups and downs of life. The instrumentation, arrangement, and songwriting on this album are all next-level.

Standout Tracks: “On My Knees” “Drowning” “Ramblin’”
