We here at American Songwriter think that songs are the oxygen for your spiritual lungs. 

To that end, we wanted to share a whopping 18 new works of music to brighten your day and share the good word of composition. So, with that in mind, here are 18 songs for you today.

1. Feist

With a new album on the way titled Multitudes, set to drop on April 14, Feist released her newest single, “In Lightning.” She also announced some new tour dates that span May through July. Check out the industrial new song below.

2. Kingfish

Blues superstar, Christone ‘Kingfish’ Ingram, and rapper, Big K.R.I.T., released a new music video for the song “Another Life Goes By.” The melancholy yet hopeful song talks about the world’s penchant to harm others for stupid reasons like the color of their skin or their sexuality. It’s the same old story, sadly.

3. Odesza

Grammy-nominated electronic band Odesza released a live video for the fan-favorite song “Hopeful.” The song moves and switches directions and then moves again. It’s a song that can hype you up or bring you down to rest.

4. Atmosphere

Minneapolis rap duo Atmosphere released its latest single, “Okay.” In the song, rapper Slug offers his signature blend of humor, insight, and irreverence. The slice-of-life music video is a hit, too.

5. Shana Cleveland

California-via-Seattle artist, Shana Cleveland, shared her latest single and accompanying music video for the song “Walking Through the Morning Dew.” The recent new mother says she reconnected with nature and the new offering shows that in spades. Check out the homemade music video below.

6. Brandon Davis

Rising country songwriter and performer Brandon Davis says he fell for eyes “’bout as brown as whiskey” and many of his fans, upon hearing his new song, “Fell For You,” will fall for him similarly. Check out the artist who boasts a quintessential country voice below.

7. Death Valley Girls

Fresh off releasing their now globally acclaimed song, “Magic Powers,” California-based band Death Valley Girls have released a new song and accompanying music video for the track “Islands in the Sky.” The song marks the release of the group’s new LP, also out now.

8. Shinedown

The Florida-born rock band Shinedown released its latest music video for the single “A Symptom Of Being Human” from the band’s recent album, Planet Zero. Check out the passionate, acoustic-driven work from the high-octane band below.

9. The National

Acclaimed cerebral rock band The National released its latest single and accompanying video for the song “New Order T-Shirt,” which features signature poetic lyrics and intricate songwriting. The new song comes ahead of the band’s forthcoming new release, First Two Pages of Frankenstein, due out April 28.

10. Death Cab for Cutie

The beloved Pacific Northwest-born band, Death Cab for Cutie, released the latest acoustic single from its acoustic album, Asphalt Meadows (Acoustic). The new track is the stripped-down version of the song “Foxglove Through The Clearcut,” which you can check out below.

11. Fishbone

The influential Southern California-based rock band, Fishbone, released its latest single. The group that inspired everyone from No Doubt to Red Hot Chili Peppers rocks on the new track, “All We Have Is Now.”

12. Tenille Townes

Country star Tenille Townes released a new single with Bryan Adams. The song, “The Thing That Wrecks You,” goes right to your heart, pulls, wrestles, and offers satisfaction in the end.

13. Skrillex

Globally famous DJ and producer, Skrillex, released his latest single and accompanying music video for the track “Ceremony,” featuring Yung Lean and Bladee. The new track is somehow energetic and smooth. A fine line to walk.

14. Lil Wayne

Beloved rapper, Lil Wayne, surprised the world this week when he released a new single that featured the late big-voiced rapper DMX as part of the beat. The new song, “Kant Nobody,” is a banger. Check it out below.

15. Kali Uchis

Grammy-winner Kali Uchis released a new smoothed-out love song, “Moonlight.” The song is the type you put on to groove with your best friend who happens to be your romantic partner. There is so much verve, smirk, and passion to the track that it may just bloom into a bouquet and blossom on your kitchen table.

16. The Milk Carton Kids

17. Halsey

The pop star released their latest single “Die 4 Me.” “It’s been long known in my fanbase that there’s a demo of ‘Die For Me’ with just me on it,” she wrote on social media. “I performed my verse on the tour all summer long and since so many people have asked for it, I decided to put my full version out as ‘Die 4 Me’…Big big thanks to @postmalone @louisbell and @future for having me on the original release and co-signing this version finally seeing daylight.” 

18. CHVRCHES
