Pitchfork Music Festival to Launch Mexico City Edition in 2024

March 2024 marks the inaugural Pitchfork Music Festival in Mexico City, per a report from Pitchfork. Various acts will be announced for the festival in the following months. The festival, set to take place March 6-9, 2024, will partner with local Mexico City venues to put on their acts, such as Foro Indie Rocks!, Frontón Bucareli, Fünk Club, and Yu Yu.

Tickets for the festival are already on sale, with Pitchfork Plus passes available that allow access to four venues and three club shows, according to the announcement. There are also standard passes available which allow access to only four venue shows. Passes are available in limited quantities, but individual tickets will drop this fall.

Official Mexico City festival news can be found on social media: X, Facebook, Instagram, and the Pitchfork Music Festival Mexico City website. Additionally, information on acts and venues for next year’s U.S. festival will be posted on Pitchfork’s usual socials and website.

“With its incredible and diverse music scene, Mexico City is a natural home for our festival,” Pitchfork’s editor-in-chief, Puja Patel, said in a statement. “We look forward to championing a lineup of local and international artists, and, as always, creating space for music discovery and community. I’m especially grateful to our partners at Indie Rocks for sharing our vision and bringing it to life.”

Mexico City joins a culturally and musically diverse lineup of festival locations, like the Pitchfork Music Festivals in Paris, London, and Berlin. The flagship festival is, of course, held every summer in Union Park in Chicago, and features artists and acts in the alternative, indie rock, and hip-hop spheres.

Headliners from this year’s Chicago festival were Bon Iver, Big Thief, and The Smile, while last year saw The National, Mitski, and The Roots take the stage. The Pitchfork Music Festival Paris is set for November 6 to 12, 2023, while the festival in London is slated for November 7 to 13, 2023.
