Chris Shiflett of the Foo Fighters has been doing the podcast thing for a while now, exploring his interest in country, roots and Americana music through his weekly show Walking the Floor. Past interview subjects have included Sturgill Simpson, Patterson Hood and Merle Haggard, and in this latest show Shiflett sits down for a conversation with Rhett Miller, longtime frontman for Texas alt-country stalwarts Old 97s and a solo artist in his own right. In this episode, Miller talks about his songwriting process, watching The Smiths play at a bowling alley and what he’s been reading of late.
