He also shared a preview of the second track, “Something Real,” a cinematic number that features a chorus of voices as Malone sings about seeking solace. Give me something, I can feel/Light a cigarette just so I can breathe/Give me something, something real/700 feet off the coast of Greece/Give me something, I can feel/No reservation, pull up 20 deep/Give me something, something real/I would trade it all just to be at peace, he sings in the soaring chorus.

“My new record AUSTIN has 17 songs and drops July 28th,” he writes in the caption. “Heres a snippet of one of em. I love you!!!” The superstar rapper announced the album in May. “This whole deal has been one of the most challenging, rewarding, and exciting records I’ve worked on,” he said via Twitter at the time. “I feel it captures who i am as a man and as an artist in this moment. thank y’all so much for your patience, and thank you for being there with me in my hardest times. i love y’all so much, and am ready to fucking party with y’all. cheers, and keep spreading love.”

Austin follows his 2022 album, Twelve Carat Toothache, which features the hit singles “One Right Now,” “Cooped Up,” and “I Like You (A Happier Song)” featuring Doja Cat. The album peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and No. 2 on the Billboard 200.

Though Austin is not a country album, the Texas native is open to making one eventually. “To be honest, there’s nothing stopping me from taking a camera or setting up in my studio in Utah and just recording a country album [to put] on YouTube,” he said on The Howard Stern Show. “I’m allowed to do that. I’m a human being.”
