Dolly Parton Recalls Being Told To Tone Down Her Look
Gaining over 500,000 likes, fans loved the support shown from Dolly as comments included, “Dolly is such a gem whether you like real country music or not (I don’t but..)” Another person added, “Always the best, always relentlessly positive, and always in the moment. You are THE queen!” And one comment insisted, “From a simple girl who grew up in the mountains to a star who wrote thousands of songs and is still making songs to this day, she truly is one of a kind.”
Although a legend in country music, at one time – Dolly was nothing more than a singer trying to break into the business. While climbing the charts over the years, the singer revealed how she was constantly criticized for her wardrobe and look. With more than enough comments about her look, Dolly admitted, “My true belief with most things, you’ve got to really find out who you are, what makes you happy, what you’re comfortable in, and if you feel like you look your best, according to your rules, then you are going to do your best. I really believe that. And I think everybody has their own little things they love. To me, that is what fashion is.”
And for those who continue to criticize her look, Dolly concluded, “I’d say, ‘Go to hell.’”
