Shaboozey took the country music world by storm in 2024 with “A Bar Song (Tipsy.)” The infectious country-rap banger broke all kinds of records and is up for three Grammy Awards, including Song of the Year, at next month’s ceremony. Closing out the year strong, he joined Beyoncé onstage for her epic NFL halftime performance on Christmas Day. The Virginia singer-songwriter, 29, was set to hit another milestone on Jan. 18 when he made his onstage debut at the Grand Ole Opry. Sadly, the highly-anticipated performance will have to wait as multiple catastrophic wildfires continue their rampage throughout southern California.
Shaboozey Is Facing Evacuation From His LA Home
Performing at the Grand Ole Opry is a rite for passage for country singers, and fans were looking forward to seeing Shaboozey’s initiation into the elite club. He was scheduled to perform Friday, Jan. 18, in celebration of Dolly Parton’s 79th birthday.

However, the Grand Ole Opry announced in a Friday (Jan. 10) post that the “Good News “singer has rescheduled his Opry debut for a later date due to the ongoing wildfire crisis in Los Angeles.
“Our thoughts are with Shaboozey, Los Angeles, and the surrounding communities during this time,” the post read.
Due to the ongoing wildfire crisis in Los Angeles and evacuation from his LA home, @ShaboozeysJeans will be rescheduling his Opry debut to occur at a later date.

Shaboozey (real name: Collins Obinna Chibueze) moved to Los Angeles at age 19 to pursue a career in entertainment. Not long after, he scored his first viral hit with “Jeff Gordon,” a piano-trap ode to the NASCAR driver.

According to the Opry website, the third annual Opry Goes Dolly event will proceed with performances from Rhonda Vincent, Don Schlitz, and more.
Wildfires Continue to Threaten Southern California
Shaboozey is one of nearly 200,000 residents forced to flee their southern California homes as wildfires encroach on the Los Angeles metropolitan area.
Various outlets report that at least 13 people have died since the flames ignited Tuesday (Jan. 7.) The largest fire, in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood, is now threatening residents of Brentwood and Encino as it moves east.
