The hallowed halls of the museum will include murals and informative showcases that date back to 1828. As visitors observe the exhibit, they will learn about the competitive business of songwriting and reflect on the prestigious awards many songsmiths have received throughout the years.

The interactive walkthrough will also include a SHOF original film featuring interviews with notable names in the entertainment industry – Jimmy Jam, Toby Keith, Carole King, Alan Menken, Smokey Robinson, Carole Bayer Sager, Don Schlitz, and Diane Warren.

“The Power of Song: A Songwriters Hall of Fame Exhibit” will incorporate artifacts associated with some of the most successful hits in American history. For instance, original handwritten lyrics and sheet music for Mariah Carey’s “Fly Like A Bird,” Norman Gimbel’s “Killing Me Softly with His Song,” Desmond Child’s “Livin’ La Vida Loca,” Annie Lennox’s “Sweet Dreams [Are Made of This],” and many more.
