Stevie Nicks Praises Chappell Roan for Setting Boundaries, “She’s Not Going To Drop Dead for All You People”

Although spending over a decade in the music industry, Chappell Roan recently took over the airwaves as her songs “Hot To Go!” and “Pink Pony Club” became hits on social media. And while enjoying her time in the spotlight, the singer decided to shine a light on the toxic nature of the music industry and how much stardom controlled her life. Not willing to sit silently, Roan made her thoughts clear when she decided to cancel her appearance at the All Things Go Festival. While some fans criticized the singer for her decision, it seems that the legendary Stevie Nicks loved Roan not backing down.

Speaking with Rolling Stone about her career with Fleetwood Mac, Nicks eventually discussed Roan and how much pressure surrounded her. Having looked at her touring schedule, Nicks insisted, “Me and a friend of mine went and looked at her schedule, and it was outrageous. What she’s already done and then what she’s going into. It’s as bad as any schedule we ever did, and she’s new, and she’s young.”

Chappell Roan Feels Both Loved And Unsafe At The Same Time

Shocked by how much time Roan spent on the road and stage, Nicks added, “I said, ‘They’ll burn her out if that’s what they want to do, because there’s always somebody to replace you.’ It must make them all very fearful. That’s why it’s good that Chappell just said, ‘Well, go ahead, replace me. I’m canceling because I’m not going to drop dead for all you people.’”

Sharing her thoughts on Instagram, Roan pleaded with fans that she wanted to simply enjoy her life while exploring her music. “I want to love my life, be outside, giggle with my friends, go to the movie theater, feel safe, and do all the things every single person deserves to do.” She continued, “Please stop touching me. Please stop being weight to my family and friends. Please stop assuming things about me. There is always more to the story. I am scared and tired.”

Revealing both the good and bad, Roan declared, “I feel more love than I ever have in my life. I feel the most unsafe I have ever felt in my life.”
