‘The Voice’ Just Sent a Fan Favorite Home, and Viewers Are Furious

Look—no one ever said being a coach on The Voice was easy. Snoop Dogg, who made his debut during the show’s season 26 premiere, is quickly learning that. The “Gin and Juice” rapper found himself “distraught” over having to pick between DREION and Georgia Starnes following an incredible Battle performance. Still, only one artist can advance, so he made his choice—and many social media users are not happy.

Snoop snagged two four-chair performers in DREION and Georgia Starnes. And each artist delivered yet another flawless performance during Tuesday’s (Oct. 29) episode of the Battle Rounds. For their duet, Snoop selected the aptly-titled “Perfect Combination,” by R&B partners Stacy Lattisaw and Johnny Gill.

It was truly a gem of a performance—one with no clear-cut winner. “This is hard,” Snoop confessed. “I didn’t ever think it was going to be this hard.”

Snoop, 53, admitted he was scared to make the wrong decision. “Because it ain’t no wrong one,” he said. “They’re both right… I love both of these artists, and I feel like they both could win The Voice.”

Ultimately, Snoop chose to move forward with Starnes. “I just felt like Georgia gave me a little bit more in the gamete situation,” he said. ““Georgia is something far-fetched from the Snoop Dogg catalog.”

Unfortunately, that meant the end of the road for DREION. And social media had a lot to say about it.

“Snoop, What Did You Just Do?”

Already, DREION had established himself as an early frontrunner. Many fans took to social media to express their disappointment at seeing his run on The Voice come to an end.

#snoop! What did you just do? #dreion was awesome!!” one X/Twitter user raged.

Another viewer called Dreion the better performer, but also conceded that “Georgia got vocals now.”

“But that was a hard decision, I get it,” they wrote.
