Trending: Oasis Fans Debate the 3 Openers They Want at a Gallagher Family Reunion

With the rumors swirling more than ever about an Oasis reunion between brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher, fans are speculating about which bands would open for such a history-making concert. On Twitter/X, the account The Rock Revival posed the question to fans, “3 support acts for the Oasis gig…who are you picking?” Fans in the comments did not disappoint.

The post received 1.6k comments of fans replying with their dream line-up, but some bands and artists stood out among the rest. For example, out of the first possible hundred comments, Richard Ashcroft was named 12 times. Similarly, Kasabian was named 11 times, with Blossoms coming in at 9 mentions and Sam Fender with 8 (although one person did name Fender as all three openers).

Ashcroft’s defunct band The Verve was also named three times, but since they disbanded for the last time in 2009, there might be more luck in getting Ashcroft himself. His talent has been praised by Noel Gallagher, so it’s possible Ashcroft could join an Oasis reunion show.

Kasabian, meanwhile, have noted Oasis’ attitude as an influence, as well as the Stone Roses and Primal Scream. Formed in 1997, Kasabian has often been praised for their live shows and stage presence. They’d likely pull out all the stops for an Oasis reunification.

Who Would You Like To See Open for Oasis If They Do, In Fact, Get Back Together?

Other groups and artists mentioned were Fontaines DC, who recently released a new album. Interestingly, Taylor Swift was named not once, but twice, by two different people. Blur was also named twice, and Pulp made the comments as well.

The Stone Roses were named a few times, as well as Manic Street Preachers, The Struts, Arcade Fire, and Slowdive. It seems that, for an Oasis show, it’s best to lean into nostalgia. Either book bands who were contemporaries of Oasis, or bands with a similar sound to satisfy fans and warm up the crowd.

Arctic Monkeys, Miles Kane, and The Last Shadow Puppets were all named separately, but to have Miles Kane and Alex Turner back together again would be a treat, all in the name of reunion. Maybe other disbanded groups will take a hint from Oasis and get back together? If Noel and Liam Gallagher can reconcile, just about anyone can.
