As of recently, the biggest news in country music, and arguably all of his music, are the accusations brought against Garth Brooks for sexual assault and rape. Since the news dropped, Brooks and his team have released comments stating the allegations are false.

“I have been hassled to no end with threats, lies, and tragic tales of what my future would be if I did not write a check for many millions of dollars.” And, “Hush money, no matter how much or how little, is still hush money. In my mind, that means I am admitting to behavior I am incapable of – ugly acts no human should ever do to another,” Brooks said per Newsweek.
Furthermore, Brooks and his team have also stated that this is merely an extortion attempt. With the allegations hanging over his head, Brooks’ wife Trisha Yearwood recently posted on X, seemingly standing in solidarity with her husband.
Trisha Yearwood’s Post Supporting Garth Brooks
Yearwood posted a picture on October 7 of her and Brooks sharing the stage together. The caption on the post contained just three words, “Love One Another.” Before this post, Yearwood had yet to release any statement on the matter. Surely numerous interpersonal and legal factors have prevented Yearwood from releasing an official statement at the moment. Yearwood turned off the ability for followers and other X users to reply.
As the legal proceedings continue, the reporting on Brooks’ case will surely be extensive. Despite the allegations, Brooks continues to perform as he is currently in his Garth Brooks/Plus ONE Las Vegas residency. As of now, no further news has arisen other than Yearwood’s post and Brooks’ comments. Brooks’ next show is set to take place on October 10 at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
