We’re pleased to premiere the official video for “When I Wake” from Nora Jane Struthers and The Party Line. The song is a standout track from her latest album, Wake, and a perfect primer for Valentine’s Day. Check out AS’s review of the album here.
Like many songs on the record, “When I Wake” came from a place of love and vulnerability.
“I was in Virginia, caught up in a fit of love the day I wrote this song,” Struthers tells AS. “The phrasing was so different than anything I’d ever written before and the harmony was present in my mind even as I created the melody. This song came to me as a duet.” To bring that harmony to life, Struthers enlisted vocals from Joe Overton, a multi-instrumentalist in her band The Party Line.
