On Thursday, Cage the Elephant shared a new music video for “Trouble,” the second single of their latest album Tell Me I’m Pretty. The video features a back-and-forth between the band performing in the desert and the story of a western-style duel and its delusional results. Watch the video below.

The video for “Trouble” was directed by frontman Matt Shultz, the project serving as the vocalist’s directorial debut.

“I really wanted to make a video that was like John Wayne or a young Clint Eastwood acting in a Cocteau Play or Ingmar Bergman’s Wild Strawberry’s,” Shultz told Pitchfork of the new video. “A metaphorical journey that hopefully people could read between the lines.”

Tell Me I’m Pretty was released in December of last year to critical acclaim. The album – which was produced by Black Keys’ frontman Dan Auerbach – was recorded in Nashville and finds the band taking a more psychedelic approach to their garage-rock sound.

The group is currently on tour in support of the Tell Me I’m Pretty. A full list of tour dates can be seen below.
