5 Musicians That Late 90s Kids Still Jam to Today

If you were one of many kids born in the late 90s, you probably grew up listening to these five musicians who made a name for themselves in the 2000s. Let’s take a walk down memory lane, shall we?

1. Lady Gaga

Few people who were around in 2008 could forget Lady Gaga’s powerhouse debut. The Fame is loaded with hits that were all over the radio well into the 2010s. From “Just Dance” to “Paparazzi” to “Poker Face”, Lady Gaga made a name for herself in the early 2000s and hasn’t gone anywhere yet. Whether you love her or hate her, one can’t deny that she drastically changed the world of pop from the get-go.

2. Kelly Clarkson

Quite a few late 90s kids sat with bated breath in front of their family TV sets to watch Kelly Clarkson (and other musicians) compete on the very first season of American Idol back in 2002. They really don’t make music competition shows like they used to! Her win was well-earned, and her second studio album was a massive hit with younger audiences.

3. Britney Spears

This would not be a proper list of musicians that late 90s kids loved without mentioning the queen of pop herself. In fact, anyone born in any year during the 1990s likely loved Britney Spears at one point, and it’s not very surprising. From her powerhouse debut in 1999 to Oops!… I Did It Again in 2000 to Britney from 2001, Spears quite literally owned the charts in the early 2000s.

4. Christina Aguilera

Like Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera was absolutely everywhere in the early 2000s. Her early hit “Genie In A Bottle” from 1999 is still an earworm today, and her drastic rebranding with Stripped in 2002 made her a certified legend in pop music history.

5. Gwen Stefani

Gwen Stefani was loved by ska fans long before she left No Doubt to launch her solo career in 2004. Stefani initially joined the “Just A Girl” hitmakers in 1986. Her solo music efforts were marred by controversy and accusations of being a culture vulture, but one can’t deny that Love. Angel. Music. Baby. is an iconic electropop album.
