Cher
Cher was a star in the 1960s thanks to her duo Sonny & Cher, singing flower power ballads like “I Got You Babe.” Later she went solo and garnered acclaim for songs like “Dark Lady.” As the decades unfolded, Cher transitioned from a folk rocker to a glamorous club pop-song singer. Example No. 1 is her dance hit “Believe.” But if you thought her career didn’t extend past the stage, you’d be wrong. Cher earned an Oscar for Best Actress for the film Moonstruck. She’s also appeared in big films like “Mask.” Cher is as timeless a superstar as the world has seen.
Jennifer Hudson
Jennifer Hudson rose to fame thanks to her participation in American Idol in 2004. With her big voice and charismatic charm, she became a fan favorite. But she quickly showed she had acting chops in the 2006 musical film Dreamgirls. She won an Oscar for her work on that film. Since then, she is one of the few entertainers to garner an EGOT—meaning, she’s won at least one Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony. Today, she’s the host of her self-titled talk show on Fox. When people ask the question ‘what can’t she do?’ the answer is she can do everything.
Mandy Moore
Mandy Moore rose to fame in the late 1990s thanks to her bubblegum pop song “Candy.” In the aftermath of that song, she was a powerhouse when it came to hits. But over the years, her music has evolved to more singer/songwriter work, including her latest album In Real Life. But something Moore fans might not have guessed as her musical career was unfolding was she would become an A-list actor thanks to her role as Rebecca Pearson in the popular NBC drama This Is Us. For that work, she garnered Emmy and Golden Globe nominations.
