A Long Time Coming: Poison To Reunite in 2026, Rikki Rockett Confirms

Glam metal outfit Poison is set to reunite in 2026! And all of the band members are on board, according to drummer Rikki Rockett. During a recent appearance on Trunk Nation via Sirius SM, Rockett confirmed that the band will be getting back together by 2026. The announcement comes just a few short months after Rockett claimed Poison may not get back together because of Bret Michaels.

The announcement came after interviewer Eddie Trunk read out a text message he had gotten from Poison frontman Bret Michaels ahead of the interview’s recording.

“Bret sent me a text, Bret Michaels, a day or two ago, and he said, ‘Hey, I hear you’re gonna have Rikki Rockett on,” said Trunk. “Send him my love and tell him Poison 2026.’ What are your thoughts on that? Are you hopeful of that?”

“Oh yeah,” said Rockett. “Yeah, yeah, yeah, absolutely. ’26 is for sure gonna happen and like, I mean, unless some unforeseen thing happens, but all band members have stuck their hand in and said, ‘Yeah, we’re definitely doing it without a doubt.’”

Poison Will Reunite Several Years After Their Last Supporting Trek

The upcoming reunion is going to be a big deal for fans of the glam rock outfit. The band previously toured in support of Mötley Crüe and Def Leppard back in 2022. Poison hasn’t released new music since the 2007 album Poison’d! So, the reunion is a long time coming.

Rockett did not divulge any additional details about the tour or the potential for new music. However, the fact that Poison is getting back together with Michaels in tow is surprising. The health problems the frontman has faced in the last few years have been quite serious.

Despite releasing a number of excellent solo records over the last two decades, Michaels has been dealing with some pretty difficult health issues that have made touring (and working in general) quite difficult. Since 2008, the Poison frontman has battled health issues stemming from diabetes, skin cancer, “headbanger’s neck” (according to Michaels himself), and a frightening brain hemorrhage.

Michaels announced earlier this year that he plans to take 2025 off to “recharge” and likely recover further from his medical ailments.

“In 2025, in light of some recent medical results and setbacks, and with much discussion and real advice from my doctors and family, I will be taking most, if not all, of 2025 off, except for a few select dates with both the Bret Michaels Band and possibly all original Poison,” said Michaels.

Taking a year off is more than understandable, but we’re pumped to see Poison hit the stage again in 2026!
