The ballots are out! American Music Awards list of 2008 nominees has been released, causing a few musicians to sing a happy tune. Leading the race in nominations are superstars Alicia Keys, Coldplay and the Eagles.
Alicia Keys will be dueling in five categories including artist of the year, favorite female artist: pop or rock music, favorite female artist: soul/rhythm & blues music and favorite album in pop or rock music and soul/R&B music for As I Am.
With the success of Coldplay’s highly anticipated album release earlier this year, it’s no surprise they will be a familiar face on the AMA ballot. Coldplay has four nominations including artist of the year, favorite band, duo or group: pop or rock music, favorite artist: alternative rock music and favorite album: pop or rock music for Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends.
The Eagles will be visiting four categories as well with nominations for artist of the year, favorite band, duo or group: pop or rock music, favorite artist: adult contemporary music, and favorite album pop or rock music for Long Road Out of Eden.
Will this be another ballot on your to-do list? Voting for your favorite musician can be completed with ease on ABC.com’s American Music Awards website. Voting will end Nov. 7, at 11:59 pm PCT. The red-carpet will roll out Nov. 23 as Jimmy Kimmel hosts the event in LA’s Nokia Theatre and will air on ABC.
