Perhaps the last great hold-out to make the leap into the digital age, The Beatles have hit yet another delay from finally cutting a deal with Apple and admitting the coveted catalog into iTunes. Thus far, the legendary group’s holding company, Apple Corps Ltd., has withheld from converting the music onto any Internet music retailer. That negotiations will ever reach an end looks especially bleak for Apple Inc., which has been in a never-ending legal battle over their too-similar company names. In order for EMI to release the Beatles inventory, Apple Corps must give their consent – something all parties involved feel may never reach a hopeful conclusion.

Until then, Beatles fans will have to be content with their clunky CDs and rusty turntables, and iTunes with their Across the Universe soundtrack.
