While placing Billy Strings in genres like bluegrass, outlaw country, and roots rock, the guitarist has a love for genres outside of his career. Throughout his time in the spotlight, he released albums like Turmoil & Tinfoil and Highway Prayers. Although producing more than a few hits and winning a Grammy Award for Best Bluegrass Album, the singer decided to pay tribute to Led Zeppelin when performing at a Halloween show.

With Halloween focused on trick or treats, Strings offered a treat when he took the stage during a recent concert that featured the theme O Billy Where Art Thou. When taking the stage, the musician offered a mesmerizing cover of “When The Levee Breaks.” Although originally written by Kansas Joe McCoy and Memphis Minnie during the 1920s, Led Zeppelin eventually discovered the song and decided to record it in the 1970s.
Thankfully, the performance from Strings made its way online and quickly gained praise from fans. Looking at what they had to say, comments included, “You know I have been listening to Billy for a few years this cat knows no bounds and that is so great for us I’m not surprised by this dude anymore he just that good.”

Billy Strings Returns To Baltimore’s CFG Bank Arena
While most comments showered Strings with support and love, one person hinted at the legacy of the musician. “Billy Strings knows no bounds. And he rips all the classic rock songs. He’ll be remembered with Jerry Garcia, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Earl Scruggs, Bob Dylan, Derek Trucks, Clarence White, Jack Pearson, Vince Gill, Doc Watson, and all the other top music legends. He might even have 50-60 years left to play, if the guitar keeps him young like it did for Willie Nelson. Remarkable.”
Hosting the Halloween concert at Baltimore’s CFG Bank Arena, Strings returned to the venue on Friday for a special performance that featured cover, originals, and guests that included Cris Jacobs, Nat Smith, Duane Trucks, and even Sierra Hall.
Besides sharing a performance from the night, Strings also shared a plethora of pictures from the following concert on his Instagram. Not captioning the post, the musician allowed the pictures to do all the talking, and from the looks of it, the concert was a piece of music history.
