Earlier this month, Blake Shelton announced his departure from Warner Music Nashville. The move came after he had been with the label for more than 20 years. At the time, the “Austin” singer didn’t mention any plans for a future label home. Yesterday, he announced his new partnership with BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville.

Shelton left Warner Music Nashville after his team saw some major personnel changes. For instance, Scott Hendricks, Shelton’s longtime producer who also served as the executive VP of A&R and creative advisor at Warner Music Nashville left the label last December. Shane Tarleton, executive VP of artist development and a member of Shelton’s team left the label last October. Label head Shane Esposito vacated his position last year as well. So, it seems that the “Ol’ Red” singer left after losing several familiar faces. Now, he’s working with a new team. More importantly, it sounds like Shelton is planning to release new music soon.

Jon Loba President of Frontline Recordings, Americas, BMG spoke about the new partnership in a statement. “Blake is one of the biggest personalities and presences in media,” he said of Shelton. “America first got to know him through incredible, timeless songs and live shows and then fell in love with him and his sense of humor through TV,” Loba shared. “We are so excited he’s joining the BMG Global family and cannot wait to share his incredible new music with the world. He’s been laser-focused on delivering some of the best of his career and it shows. We have been dancing through the office, literally not just figuratively, since we heard the first couple songs he played for us.”
Shelton also spoke about his new team in the statement. “A huge thanks to Jon Loba, Peter Strickland, Jojamie Hahr, Katie Kerkhover, and the BMG family for being as excited as me about this new chapter we will write together,” he shared. “I felt their passion and love for music when I met with them, and I knew I was home.
