Bright Eyes is canceling concerts. On Wednesday, the band took to Instagram to reveal that they’ve nixed three upcoming shows that were scheduled to celebrate the release of their forthcoming album, Five Dices, All Threes, which is due out Sept. 20.

The news came after Bright Eyes played a show in Cleveland. That show, some fans claimed on Reddit, was full of problems for the band, most notably frontman Conor Oberst.
“We’re heartbroken to announce that our upcoming record release shows have been canceled,” the band wrote. “The warm up shows we played earlier this week resulted in Conor losing his voice and, on the advice of doctors, we’ve made the difficult but sensible decision to prioritize rest and recuperation for the remainder of the month.”
While the band will no longer be taking the stage in New York City, Chicago, or Omaha, they assured fans that they’re “working hard to reschedule these dates and will keep you updated as soon as we have more info. In the meantime, refunds will be available at the point of purchase.”
As for their forthcoming album, the band wrote that they “couldn’t be more proud” of the project.
“Thank you for your understanding, love, and support,” they wrote. “Can’t wait to see you all soon.”
Bright Eyes Will Be Back on the Road Soon
Though the band’s September shows are no longer happening, Bright Eyes has many concerts scheduled throughout the rest of the year. If things continue as planned, they’ll be back on the stage Oct. 11 in Oakland, California.
The group will hit venues across the U.S. and Europe through next year, until wrapping that run of shows in West Des Moines, Iowa, on April 26.
