Carrie Underwood’s Son Finally Thinks His Mom Is Cool After Papa Roach Collab

Carrie Underwood’s career has lasted nearly 20 years, and it would take as long to list all her accomplishments. In 2005, the Oklahoma native dominated her fellow American Idol contestants to take home the season 4 crown. She then went on to become the most awarded country artist of all time, landing eight GRAMMY Awards, 16 ACM Awards, and 23 CMT Music Awards. However, Underwood needed a recent collaboration with Papa Roach to accomplish her most elusive milestone yet. Now, 9-year-old Isaiah Fisher finally thinks his mom is cool.

Carrie Underwood Has Finally Impressed Her Son

Recently, Carrie Underwood teamed up with ’90s rock legends Papa Roach to record a new version of the latter’s 2022 song “Leave a Light On (Talk Away the Dark.)” The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) will receive royalties generated from both artists from the song in perpetuity. 

Aside from the worthwhile cause, Underwood has at long last won the approval of her oldest son, a “massive Papa Roach fan.”

“I finally am doing something cool to him,” the “Last Name” singer joked during a recent appearance on Good Morning America. “He thinks his mom’s cool, for probably one minute. But I’ll take it.”

Isaiah Fisher—the older of Underwood’s two sons with husband Mike Fisher—comes by his love of rock and roll honestly. The country superstar has shared a stage with Guns N’ Roses on several occasions. Additionally, she often incorporates classic rock hits from Led Zeppelin and the Rolling Stones into her concert setlist.

The Advice Luke Bryan Gave His Newest ‘American Idol’ Colleague

Next year, Carrie Underwood will return to the birthplace of her career two decades later. After months of speculation regarding judge Katy Perry’s replacement, American Idol announced last week that the season 4 champ is stepping up to the plate. The “Cowboy Casanova” singer will join veteran judges Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie.

Does Luke Bryan have any advice for his new colleague? “If she has a therapist, she’s probably going to have to double [up] to deal with me and Lionel,” he said. “Do therapists do gift cards? I can call her therapist and gift her a voucher.”
