In December 2022, Celine Dion revealed that she had been diagnosed with the rare autoimmune disorder Stiff Person Syndrome. However, the Canadian songbird was determined to return to the stage, vowing, “I will sing again.” And she did just that, making a triumphant return to the stage at the 2024 Olympic Games opening ceremony in Paris. Now, Dion is taking to Instagram to remind her fans that she couldn’t have done it without them.
Celine Dion Toasts “Endless Possibilities” Of 2025
New Year’s Eve is a time for reflection, and Celine Dion has plenty to reflect on. The “My Heart Will Go On” singer expressed her gratitude in a Tuesday (Dec. 31) Instagram post.

“As we wrap up another year together, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt thanks for your unwavering support,” Dion wrote. “Your love and energy inspire me every day.”
She added, “Here’s to endless possibilities in the coming year. Wishing you a safe holiday and a fabulous New Year!”
Stiff-person syndrome is a rare, chronic condition that causes muscle stiffness and painful muscle spasms. While there is no cure, treatment can help manage symptoms and slow the progression of the condition.
Dion cancelled all tour dates for 2023 and 2024, returning to the stage in July when she performed “L’Hymne à L’Amour” by Edith Piaf at the Paris Olympics opening ceremony.
Fans praised Dion’s resilience in the comments, with one writing, “Your triumph was so much of the light of 2024. Way to claim what is yours, Songbird. You did. You are. So we can and will continue to.”
Another added, “Your courage and determination shine so brightly. I admire you and am so excited to see what’s next.”
Dion Reaches the Charts for the First Time
Releasing her first French-language album in 1981, Celine Dion has won five Grammy Awards and outsold all other Canadian recording artists. However, none of her songs ever reached the charts—until now.
Dion’s rendition of the Christmas classic “O Holy Night” debuted this week at No. 84 on the Billboard Global 200, and at No. 120 on the Billboard Global Excl. US. It marks her first career hit on both of those global rankings.
