Acclaimed singer/songwriter Chris Stapleton showed off his star power during his captivating performance at the 2023 CMA Awards. He confidently took the Bridgestone Arena stage on Wednesday night (November 8) for a high-energy rendition of his latest single, “White Horse.”

Joined on backing vocals and tambourine by wife and fellow musical talent Morgane Stapleton, the country star offered one of the most rousing performances of the evening. The audience rewarded Stapleton and his seasoned band with a well-deserved standing ovation from the crowd.
Stapleton’s triumphant performance comes just two days before the arrival of his fifth album, Higher. The project, which he co-produced with his wife Morgane and longtime collaborator Dave Cobb, is his first full-length release since 2020’s Starting Over.
“White Horse” was selected as the anthemic lead single from Higher and offers a preview of the rich, genre-spanning collection of songs to come. Recorded at the historic RCA Studio A on Nashville’s Music Row, the highly-anticipated project features 14 new tracks from the hit singer/songwriter.

Stapleton earned nominations in three categories at this year’s CMA Awards, including the coveted Entertainer of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year awards. His collaboration with Carly Pearce, “We Don’t Fight Anymore,” was also nominated for Vocal Event of the Year. HARDY and Lainey Wilson came out on top in that category for their haunting murder ballad, “wait in the truck.”
The 57th annual CMA Awards were held on November 8, 2023, at Bridgestone Arena in downtown Nashville. Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning served as co-hosts for the ceremony, which aired live on ABC. A rebroadcast of the awards will be available to stream beginning tomorrow, November 9, exclusively on Hulu.
