Alabama‘s impact on country music during their 50-plus-year run is immeasurable. They were the first country band and opened the door for others to follow in their footsteps. More than that, they have a massive collection of No. 1 hits and have inspired generations of artists. As a result, some of the genre’s biggest names gathered at Belmont University’s Fisher Center for the Performing Arts earlier this year to film CMT Giants: Alabama. After months of waiting, the special will air later this week.
CMT Giants: Alabama will air Thursday night (August 15) at 8/7c exclusively on CMT. Those who don’t catch the live broadcast will still have a few ways to watch the show. Starting Friday (August 16), the special will be available on CMT VOD. Additionally, multiple encore presentations will air throughout the month of August on CMT and MTV Live. What to Expect from CMT Giants: Alabama
CMT Giants: Alabama had a star-studded lineup. Artists including Blake Shelton, Riley Green, Jamey Johnson, Pam Tillis, and more took the stage at the Fisher Center to perform songs from the band’s deep collection of hits. Additionally, Alabama took the stage for a couple of songs.
