EMI Puts Its Hand In The Air

Reuters is reporting that EMI has sent in its bid for Chrysalis Music Publishing. While Chrysalis remains one of Britain’s leading independent publishers, preliminary discussions with select groups for a possible buyout began in December.

Sony/ATV and Warner Chappell (the publishing arm of Warner Bros. Music) have also reportedly placed bids on Chrysalis, whose roster boasts the likes of Gnarls Barkley, My Morning Jacket and David Bowie to name a few.
