Finally, a cover we all needed. Comedian and musician Weird Al took to the stage on Saturday night in Kansas City for Jason Sudeikis’ THUNDERGONG! Charity event, and he did not disappoint. He didn’t take to the stage alone, either.

Weird Al kicked off a stellar performance of pop star Chappell Roan’s famous hit “Hot To Go!” with none other than comedian Will Forte. It’s not exactly surprising that the set was so good. Weird Al has covered a ton of music on his latest Ridiculously Self-Indulgent Ill-Advised Vanity Tour. 77 songs, to be exact. He’s known for taking on songs from everyone from Smash Mouth to Foo Fighters, and he’ll likely cover many more on his upcoming 2025 tour.
Weird Al and Will Forte put on a delightful rendition of “Hot To Go!” at THUNDERGONG!, complete with Roan’s signature dance moves. And it came after quite a few fan requests for the song. In fact, a change.org petition was even launched to get Weird Al’s attention and get him to perform the song live.
“By bringing his unique humor and stylistic individuality to ‘Hot to Go!’, ‘Weird Al’ Yankovic has the power to uplift spirits worldwide, alleviating some of the turmoil that we all endure daily,” the petition read.
Luckily, it seems like Weird Al noticed the petition and decided to indulge his fans. As one fan on YouTube commented, “Telling my kids that this is Chappell & Roan.”
