iTunes launched a new Indie Spotlight store last month, which is now boasting a number of indie exclusives, Billboard.biz reports.
The store features exclusive tracks from Crystal Antlers’ album Tentacles, as well as treats from Angus & Julia Stone, Say Hi and the experimental hip hop label Stone’s Throw.
Next week, exclusives from Junior Boys and Diplo will join Indie Spotlight’s list of chosen ones.
Stone’s Throw manager Eothen Alapatt explains, “now that all of the majors who used to bypass iTunes in search of shelf space at Best Buy or Walmart are ‘encroaching’ on our ‘turf’ it’s nice to know that Apple is giving us a leg up and showing that the love they showed us, early on, wasn’t a flash, They were serious.”
