Jelly Roll Moved to Tears as He Breaks a Generational Curse Thanks to the Advice of His Late Father

Since taking the stage for the first time as a country singer, Jelly Roll used his stardom and platform to help others. Outside of discussing his struggles with addiction and staying out of jail, the hitmaker also always found ways to give back. Helping wherever he can, Jelly Roll recently took a moment to show off a new piece of land he and his wife, Bunnie XO, purchased. A staggering 500 acres, Jelly Roll broke down when revealing what the land meant to him and one of his favorite memories of his uncle.

Sharing a video on Instagram, Jelly Roll traded the stage for a massive plot of land. Although a different view from thousands of fans screaming his name, the singer discussed going to his uncle’s farm growing up. “I’ll never forget that farm, because when I was a kid, my daddy took me there. I drove my first four-wheeler, shot my first gun. It was just kind of all that core, traditional Southern values I gained there.”

While loving his time on the farm, Jelly Roll wanted to know why his family didn’t own one. “I’ll never forget, we left there when I was probably 12 years old, and I talked to my father about it. Said how come we never got a farm? He said son, that’s probably one of the mistakes I regret the most, is that I didn’t buy dirt. He said they’re never going to make no more of it, and if you don’t listen to no advice from me, buy dirt. Go get you some land.”

Jelly Roll Thanks Fans For Their Continued Support

Although Jelly Roll discussed his relationship with his father in the past, he explained how the video marked the first time he visited his new land. “Today I had an off day between St. Louis and Knoxville, and I came home for the first time in a long time. […] My wife and I, we purchased over 500 acres, and we closed on it while we were gone. And I have not been able to come to this land since we owned it, y’all. This is my first time standing on this property as the owner of it.”

Again, never losing sight of where he came from, Jelly Roll didn’t just praise his stardom or music career, he simply thanked his fans for their continued support. “I came here today to just walk barefooted in it, and most important, I came here today to pull this phone out of my pocket, look you in the eyes and thank you, man. I never would have dreamed that this could have been anything about my story.”
