Keith Urban Gives Moving Performance from New Album ‘High’ During People’s Choice Country Awards

Keith Urban took the stage at the People’s Choice Country Awards tonight, September 26, to perform from his new album, High. The album dropped on September 20 following The Speed of Now Part 1 from 2020, and fans have been showing love for Urban as he promotes the new offering with pop-up shows.

He showed up on a small stage backlit by golden light with his electric guitar, performing “Messed Up As Me.” The performance was moving and slow, with moments of wailing guitar. Those in attendance were waving their arms back and forth in the air, totally vibing with the emotional performance.

Keith Urban Shouts Out Lainey Wilson with Lyric Change During Festival Performance

Keith Urban has been playing festivals and pop-up shows all over the place since dropping his new album, to the delight of fans. During the iHeart Radio Music Festival, he changed the lyrics of one of his classic hits to show some love to Lainey Wilson.

While playing the 2016 hit “Wasted Time,” Urban switched up the lyrics “Had the Guns on the radio” to “Lainey Wilson on the radio.” This little shout-out shared some love for Wilson and highlighted her immense influence on country radio at the same time. Additionally, Wilson previously collaborated with Urban on the song “Go Home W U,” the only duet on his new album.

Recently, Urban also played a pop-up show in Nashville, filling Broadway with nearly 25,000 fans for the free concert. He played songs from High for the first time, delighting fans with a surprise 45-minute set.
