The Nashville pop-up show was just one of many surprise concerts Urban played to celebrate the new album. He surprised crowds in Sydney, Brisbane, Chicago, and Minneapolis. Additionally, he performed pop-up shows at the BNA Airport in Nashville and rocked a Buck-ee’s parking lot in Alabama. In short, he was very busy before the release of High.

It took Keith Urban four years to release High because he wanted it to be perfect. He was so picky about how this album would sound that he scrapped almost an entire finished project. He talked about the arduous process in an interview with People.

“I scrapped another album. I finished an album in early 2023, 13 tracks, and decided to scrap pretty much the whole thing,” he told the publication. “Sometimes, if I don’t know what to do, I’ll start figuring out what I don’t want to do,” he explained. “I made the record that I didn’t want to make apparently to figure out which one I did want to make,” he added.

He kept four songs from the original project and used them as the foundation for High. “It was not a good time for me but I just stayed the course and did what was flowing,” he said. “Then this record got finished, and now I see it in hindsight and go, ‘I’m so glad that I followed it,” he added.
