Miley Cyrus Will Not Be Going on Tour for ‘Endless Summer Vacation’

Miley Cyrus released her latest studio album, Endless Summer Vacation, back in March. Naturally, her fans have been inquiring about a tour in support of the Los Angeles-influenced album. Unfortunately, the answer right now to that request seems to be “no.”

In a recent interview with British Vogue, Cyrus commented on the fact that “singing for hundreds of thousands of people” isn’t really why she enjoys music. “It’s been a minute,” Cyrus continued. “After the last [headline arena] show I did, I kind of looked at it as more of a question. And I can’t.”

She added, “Not only ‘can’t,’ because can’t is your capability, but my desire. Do I want to live my life for anyone else’s pleasure or fulfillment other than my own?”

Elsewhere in the Vogue interview, Cyrus commented on the “isolating” feeling of performing on stage. “[It’s] not natural,” she said. “It’s so isolating because if you’re in front of 100,000 people then you are alone. There’s no connection. There’s no safety.”

Cyrus’ last expansive arena headlining tour was in 2013 in support of the controversial album Bangerz. She has performed a few smaller treks, including an eight-date Milky Milky Milk Tour centered around her album, Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz, and a five-date Attention Tour in support of the live album of the same name.

However, Cyrus has been a staple among many major music festivals in the absence of touring.

Cyrus’ Endless Summer Vacation spawned the mammoth hit “Flowers.” The track became the fastest song to reach one billion streams in Spotify history. The song makes allusions to her relationship with her ex-husband Liam Hemsworth.

“Thankful that Flowers is Number 1 around the world,” Cyrus shared on Instagram. “This song is dedicated to my fans & the steadfast self love I wish for each of you. Forever grateful, Miley.”
