P*rno For Pyros Reveals First Tour in 25 Years

A year after Perry Farrell reunited with his post-Jane’s Addiction band P*rno for Pyros for their first full show in 24 years, the band is set to kick off a tour commemorating their 30th anniversary. The shows will mark the first time in 25 years that P*rno For Pyros has toured together. The 21-date Horns, Thorns En Halos Tour will kick off on Oct. 8 in Wheatland, California, and continue on through the U.S. before wrapping up at Stubb’s in Austin, Texas.

In 2022, the band reunited for their first full show in more than 20 years at the Rockville Festival in Daytona Beach, Florida in May 2022 when Jane’s Addiction had to pull out of their slot after guitarist Dave Navarro contracted COVID-19. The band also went on to play Lollapalooza festivals and a gig at the famed Metro concert hall in Chicago that year. Prior to P*rno For Pyros’ 2022 reunion, the band played their last full-length concert at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa, Florida on Sept. 17, 1998.

For the 2023 tour, the band’s touring lineup will feature founding members Farrell, drummer Stephen Perkins, guitarist Peter DiStefano, and original bassist Martyn LeNoble.

Mike Watt, formerly of the Minutemen, The Stooges, and several other bands, was with P*rno For Pyros from 1995 through 1998 and recently joined the band for one-off appearances from 2020 through 2022.

Formed in 1992, following the demise of Jane’s Addiction, the band released two albums together, their self-titled debut in 1993, which featured “Pets” and “Tahitian Moon,” followed by Good God’s Urge in 1996, before disbanding in 1998.

More than a decade after disbanding, they had a brief reunion in 2009 for Farrell’s 50th birthday and again in 2020 for a Lollapalooza YouTube show during the pandemic lockdown.

DiStefano recently shared that the band was working on new material. “P*rno For Pyros writing and recording new music,” shared DiStefano on Instagram, alongside a photo of him and Farrell, who has also hinted at new Jane’s Addiction music in 2023.
