The November 8 event will feature guest appearances by Steve Vai, Billy Idol guitarist Billy Morrison, Aerosmith touring drummer John Douglas, and ex-Extreme drummer Paul Geary. Krieger also will be in attendance.

The “Beyond the Stage” exhibition was curated by Animazing Gallery owner Nicholas Leone.

“Working with rock icons, personal estates and collectors, this show has been in development for many years and features a mind-blowing collection of truly incredible works of art,” Leone said in a statement. “The show will provide art enthusiasts and fans of rock and roll with an extraordinary opportunity to see and even acquire rare works by some of the most recognized names in music.”

The exhibit will run until December 7.

Krieger’s Comments About His Artwork

Three of Krieger’s paintings are on display at the exhibit.

“I am so happy to be a part of this unique gathering of art and artists,” the Doors member said. “I am more used to holding a guitar than a paintbrush, but I actually started painting well before I ever played guitar. My mom took lessons from a fairly well-known artist, Mr. Kurosawa. I kind of liked it then and I never thought I would pick up a paintbrush again, forty years later.”

He added, “The main difference between my music and my painting is that one is done with other people and the other is pretty much a one-man deal. … I am looking forward to this exhibition.”

Among the pieces featured in the exhibition are guitars hand-painted by Vai that he also played on stage. Also on display is a tambourine featuring a drawing by Nicks.

In addition, there’s an acoustic guitar signed by the artists who participated in a 2012 Hurricane Sandy Relief benefit concert. They included Roger Daltrey, Alicia Keys, David Grohl, Roger Waters, Michael Stipe, Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, Eddie Vedder, Ronnie Wood, Billy Joel, Pete Townshend, Mick Jagger, Krist Novoselic, Jon Bon Jovi, Keith Richards, and Eric Clapton.
