Thumbplay Finalizes Deal with Sony BMG

Sony BMG, the parent company of labels like Columbia, Epic, RCA, and Arista, teamed with mobile content provider Thumbplay today in a move that will make more than 7,000 Sony songs available on wireless devices. The partnership will allow mobile users to access content from Sony’s current roster and back catalogue-including artists such as Johnny Cash, Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam, and My Morning Jacket-in the form of ringtones, videos, and wallpapers.

Thumbplay also recently announced plans to integrate itself into online hubs like AOL and iLike.
