There is no denying that Kelly Clarkson is one of the most talented vocalists walking the earth today. She proves it on every episode of her daytime talk show in her Kellyoke segments. Her covers regularly rival—or top—the original versions. In a recent episode of the show, her eight-year-old son Remington, who goes by Remy—proved that he got some of his mother’s talent.

Clarkson started the episode by telling the audience what was in store. “We’ve got a few Broadway stars joining us. We’ve also got my kiddos, River and Remy, in the audience ‘cause we are taping on an off day,” she said as the camera cut to her little ones and the crowd cheered. “Before the show, Remy took a moment to warm up the audience with his rendition of the Sinatra classic ‘My Way.’ You’re welcome,” she said, introducing the clip.

Remy took the stage, backed by his mom’s house band to sing the timeless tune. He’s only eight years old, but he looked right at home on the stage, sporting pajamas and a big grin. One of the highlights of his short performance came when the camera panned to his older sister, River. There was no sibling rivalry in sight. She was singing along and looked proud of her little brother.
Kelly Clarkson on Her Son Taking the Stage
Some might think that Kelly Clarkson put her son up to singing on her show. However, that’s not the case. After he sang “My Way,” Clarkson explained how the rising star went about getting onstage. “He just walked right in today and said, ‘Who do I need to speak to to sing my song?’ I said, ‘Okay, sir!’” she said. “They’re so fun. I love my kids so much,” she added.
This wasn’t the first time Remy took the stage. Last year, he and River Rose joined their mom on stage in front of a much larger in-person audience during her Las Vegas residency. Each of the kids picked a song to perform. Remy chose “Whole Lotta Woman” from Clarkson’s 2017 album Meaning of Life. His big sister selected “Heartbreak Song” from her mom’s 2015 full-length Piece by Piece.
