The Suffers’ Kam Franklin & the Artsy Charm of Houston

In our first episode of The Sound Of Texas, Adam our host travels to Houston. There, we meet up with Kam Franklin and Nick Zamora of The Suffers, a band that’s called Houston home for over 15 years. Blending funk, soul, rock, and powerhouse vocals, The Suffers are deeply ingrained with the Houston music and arts community.

We start our day at Koffeteria, a Vietnamese-inspired pastry and coffee shop, to sample the city’s unique flavors and learn about the diverse culture that makes Houston special. Kam and Nick then take us to where it all started for the band, Houston’s iconic The Continental Club. Then we’re off to The Cistern for a special art display and musical treat. We wrap things up at The Flat joined by friends of the band for a chill night of house music and cocktail vibes.
