Cody Johnson Teases Frank Sinatra-Esque Performance at 2024 CMA Country Christmas Celebration

Having performed on stage for nearly two decades, Cody Johnson knows the importance of having a strong stage presence. Throughout his career in country music, the singer watched his fame expand as he released hit albums like Gotta Be Me and his newest release Leather. Having dominated the CMT Music Awards, Johnson looked to not celebrate his career but the Christmas season as he recently discussed performing at the CMA Country Christmas hosted by Trisha Yearwood and Amy Grant.

With many people still working through the Thanksgiving leftovers, the Christmas season is officially underway. As the Christmas tree comes out of retirement and the lights go up, country music also looked to kick off the holiday season with a massive celebration. And it wouldn’t be Christmas without Grant. Thrilled to be hosting the CMA Country Christmas alongside Yearwood, the pair released a video showing some of the names performing during the event.

Discussing his involvement at the CMA Country Christmas event, Johnson promised, “I get to show a little bit more of a Frank Sinatra [and] Dean Martin side of myself that you don’t normally see when you come to one of my live shows.”

Cody Johnson Wants To Show Different Side At CMA Country Christmas

Comparing the CMA Country Christmas to his live concerts, Johnson added, “In my live shows, I try to be very electric, jumping off of risers and keeping the crowd right here in the palm of my hand. But with these songs, the reason why I chose ‘White Christmas’ and ‘I’ll Be Home For Christmas’ is to kind of show off a little bit [of a] different side of my voice that you wouldn’t normally hear.”

Besides Grant and Yearwood ready to celebrate the holiday season, the singers shared some other performers that included For King and Country, Ashley McBryde, Jon Pardi, Brittney Spencer, CeCe Winans, and of course, Yearwood and Grant.

For those looking to tune in for the CMA Country Christmas celebration, the event is scheduled to kick off on December 3rd at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on ABC. If you happen to miss the event, don’t worry as it will be available to stream the following day on Disney+ and Hulu.
