ARTIST: Chris Cassady

SONG: “My Oh My”

HOMETOWN: Great Falls, Virginia

CURRENT LOCATION: Arlington, Virginia

AMBITIONS: Playing music full-time.

TURN-OFFS: Cockiness/Close mindedness.

TURN-ONS: Sense of humor, sense of adventure, good music taste.

DREAM GIG: Verizon Center in Washington D.C….one day. But for now, I’ll settle with a show at The Gorge in Washington State.

FAVORITE LYRIC: “I could be rich like a wandering gypsy, I could be poor like a fat wallet lost, I could be first or I could come last, it’s not who breaks the ribbon boy it’s how you get across…”

SONG I WISH I WROTE: So many answers, but right now, on this particularly gloomy day, “The Stone” by Dave Matthews Band. Ask me another day, and it’ll be something totally different.

5 PEOPLE I’D MOST LIKE TO HAVE DINNER WITH: Dave Matthews, Bradley Nowell, Anthony Kiedis, Levon Helm, Roger Waters

MY FAVORITE CONCERT EXPERIENCE: For my birthday two years ago, we took a limo to Verizon Center and sat front row for the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

I WROTE THIS SONG BECAUSE…I was suffering through the pain of being in a long-term relationship at the time I wrote this song. The theme of the song is kind of the helplessness you feel being so far away from the person you love, but in the chorus there is a little bit of hope that you can make it work. It’s loosely based on myself, with a little bit of fiction and imagination thrown in there. I think a lot of people can relate to the message of the song, and I think it showed with how many people downloaded the song after it aired on Sirius XM’s the Coffee House.
