TURN-ONS: Truth, liberty, and instant gratification
DREAM GIG: I want to live at the Ryman Auditorium and get to choose which acts I support. Randy Newman, John Prine, Todd Snider. They wouldn’t have a choice. They’d have to have me as support. Coz it’s MY house!
FAVORITE HOLIDAY TRADITION: Daily therapy sessions throughout the festive period. And mumma’s christmas ham!
SONGWRITER CRUSH: I’m not saying. I’m afraid they’ll find out and then ask me to leave their front yard again.
MY GO TO FEEL-GOOD RECIPE:
Ingredients:
2 parts morning sleep in
1 part afternoon nap

I WROTE THIS SONG:
After listening for days and days to the Randy Newman back catalogue. Randy’s characters are always a bit irksome and so is the narrator in this song. People keep thinking its a love song, but I think it’s a bit more sinister. I played it to my housemate and he thought it was so stupid that it was brilliant. Based on that and some other tunes, he produced an album that he made me sing all of my best songs on. He won some awards for it, but that doesn’t change the fact that he’s a bully who only gets his way by coercing artists through the clever application of kindness and gratitude. (Mark Dawson, Wagons)
