ARTIST: Hailey Steele

SONG: “You Made It That Way”

BIRTHDATE: 2/29/1988 – Leap Year

HOMETOWN: Wentworth, SD

CURRENT LOCATION: Nashville, TN

AMBITIONS: To affect people with my music…to write great songs that people relate to, to be a voice for women and country music. I also want to tour as much as possible, eventually produce, and write a symphony!

TURN-OFFS: When someone is a know-it-all or has to be the loudest person in the room. Or when a dude tells me what chords to play.

TURN-ONS: passion, dedication, hard work…and man buns.

DREAM GIG: touring with Dierks Bentley, Keith Urban, or Little Big Town. And writing a song with Sheryl Crow.

FAVORITE LYRIC: “Diamonds take patience and pressure and time.” It’s become my motto.

CRAZIEST PERSON I KNOW: I can’t name any names, because they’re crazy, of course. But it’s mostly all of my artist friends. Creative people are nuts and I love it!

SONG I WISH I WROTE: “Hell Bent on a Heartache” by Guy Clark/Chris Stapleton/Morgane Hayes. It’s so simple and classic.

5 PEOPLE I’D MOST LIKE TO HAVE DINNER WITH: Willie Nelson, Joan of Arc, Johnny Cash, June Carter, Matthew McConaughey

MY FAVORITE CONCERT EXPERIENCE: I went to my first Faith Hill concert in Pipestone, MN at age 6. I sat on my dad’s shoulders for most of it. In the middle of the show, I walked to the stage and handed Faith a rose. She said “thank you, sweetheart” into the microphone, and my life was made forever.
