FAVORITE LYRIC:

“When my morning comes around, from a new cup I’ll be drinking and for once I won’t be thinking that there’s something wrong with me” –  Iris Dement

CRAZIEST PERSON I KNOW: I plead the 5th.

SONG I WISH I WROTE:  “When My Morning Comes Around” by Iris Dement or “The Only Child” by Jackson Browne, or about a bazillion others.

5 PEOPLE I’D MOST LIKE TO HAVE DINNER WITH:  If they were each required to sing for their supper, then: Tom Petty, Paul Simon, Damien Jurado, Jackson Browne, and Iris Dement.

MY FAVORITE CONCERT EXPERIENCE:  One of the most memorable shows I’ve been to was Ellis Paul at a little venue in Georgia called the Crimson Moon. I had opened the show, it was a small, intimate crowd that night, and Ellis Paul just pulled up a chair and shared his awesome songs and stories and made it an experience everyone there would always remember.

I WROTE THIS SONG:  This song came about in a crazy way, actually. I was in the middle of a pre-order campaign for the new record when I was approached by a generous patron of the arts who offered to contribute whatever money I still needed to raise in exchange for me writing a song for them! I said yes! This individual wanted a song based on their own experience with a relationship, and they wanted it to go on the new record for the world to hear. So, this is what came out, and I have to say, it’s one of my very favorites. I’m so glad it was born.
