Daily Discovery: James Farrell, “Oh My World”

Videos by American Songwriter

ARTIST: James Farrell

SONG: “Oh My World”

BIRTHDATE: 06/25/1985

AMBITIONS: To get off the couch and go to the bathroom, but I’m just too damn comfortable…

TURN-OFFS: the lights, the television, the cell phone.

TURN-ONS: the stereo, the video camera, the iPad fireplace app, the personal massager.

DREAM GIG: Selling out Radio City Music Hall and having Paul McCartney, Randy Newman, and Tom Waits asking to get on the list. Seems reasonable.

MY FAVE TV SHOW EVER: Close tie between The Simpsons and the first season of Who Wants to Marry a Millionaire? I still can’t believe Rick chose Darva!

WHAT I LOOK FOR IN A GIRL: A good health care plan, a strong portfolio, and an affinity for struggling artists.

5 PEOPLE I’D LIKE TO HAVE DINNER WITH: Anthony Bourdain for the cigarettes and booze, Tom Waits for the stories, Hellen Keller for the conversation, Sir Richard Branson to pick up the tab, and Jesus for the forgiveness.

I CAN’T LIVE WITH OUT: American Songwriter Magazine. Please make the check out to James Farrell, but cash is preferred.

I WROTE THIS SONG: in my college apartment, sitting on the edge of my twin bed in my room… which was practically a walk-in closet. I have since upgraded to a walk-in wine cellar.
