Through their diverse array of influences and song styles, the girls have begun to compose something much more than just music; rather, a culture of fresh sounds and songwriting that really represents and reflects that New Nashville sound.

ARTIST:  Oginalii (“my friend” in Cherokee Indian)

SONG: “Happiness”

BIRTHDATE: Januar 1993

HOMETOWN: Canton, GA

CURRENT LOCATION: Nashville, TN

AMBITIONS:  At this point in my life I just want to tour. Some day (as I’ve been told by many) I may get tired of it but to be out on the road connecting with people through music and constantly experiencing something new sounds like pure inspiration. Long-term I would say producing. It’s something I’ve always had the heart for.

TURN-OFFS: peas, too much high end, midi hand claps

TURN-ONS: low end, blues music, J.R.R. Tolkien

DREAM GIG: Hands down, opening for Modest Mouse in New York, I don’t care if we’re playing in a basement. To have Oginalii even near that band and I’d die happy.

FAVORITE LYRIC: “My brain is speeding faster than my mouth can move, I’ll sit still and silently observe the room.” –Jessica Lea Mayfield.

CRAZIEST PERSON I KNOW: My brother. One of the most interesting people I know and someone who lights fires with his creativity and passion.

SONG I WISH I WROTE: “The Rain Song” –Led Zeppelin

5 PEOPLE I’D MOST LIKE TO HAVE DINNER WITH: 1. Robert Plant 2. Jimmy Page 3. Isaac Brock 4. Stevie Ray Vaughn 5. Aldous Huxley

MY FAVORITE CONCERT EXPERIENCE: Probably would have to be my first time seeing Flogging Molly at The Tabernacle in Atlanta. I just turned 17 and my friends and I chugged a bunch of beer before going in cause we were underage. I’ve just never been in such a loving crowd before. Obviously the music was phenomenal but I will never forget having my arms around two strangers and us screaming “If I Ever Leave This World Alive” at the top of our lungs.

I WROTE THIS SONG: “Happiness” I wrote it about 2 years ago now. I was dealing with a lot at the time and really dove into the meaning of Happiness and how we don’t really see the weight that can put on someone. The happiness of yourself, of the ones you love. To hold all of that up can bury a soul.
