Drake has long been an admirer of the city of Houston, Texas. And now, he’ll finally be able to absorb the city’s culture and lifestyle even more, as he plans to move there in the very near future.

On Monday night (September 18), the Toronto-bred rapper performed his second show of a back-to-back in Houston on his It’s All A Blur Tour. During his set, he announced to the thousands of attendees his aforementioned plans, confirming he’d bought a new home in the city to live in outside of his hometown.

“I’m excited I get to share this on night two. I had to make it official first, but I been looking, for a long time, trying to figure out, you know, the right place for me to live where I belong outside of Toronto,” he told the crowd. “And I finally, finally, after all these years, found me a place in Houston, Texas. So y’all will be seeing me around.”

To further display his love to the city, Drake invited H-town native Travis Scott to the show as a guest. Though Scott did not get on stage for a performance, he did walk into the arena alongside 21 Savage before his set, along with earning a wholesome shoutout from Drake. Additionally, Drake included a special tribute to the major Texas town in his set list, performing his 2009 hit “Houstatlantavegas” live for the first time in years.

All thoughout his career, Drake has taken every opportunity possible to honor Houston. On songs like “From Time” (2013), “TSU” (2021), “Major Distribution” (2022), and more, Drake has routinely shouted out the city in his raps, mostly mentioning flings he’s had with Houstonian women.

Uh, thinking ’bout Texas, back when Porscha used to work at Treasures
Or further back than that, before I had the Houston leverage
When I got Summer a Michael Kors with my momma’s debit
A weak attempt at flexing, I’ll never forget it
