I WROTE THIS SONG: because I had never written a Christmas song before and it seemed like everyone tended to just sing the classics, instead of trying to create one of their own. I knew I wanted to write it with my good friend and songwriting partner Chase Foster, so I came to him with this whole concept to write a song and film the entire process of making it come to life in the studio. He plays pretty much every insturment you can think of, and we love bringing our ideas together and melding them into something unique. I came with a verse idea and he started fiddling with something on the piano, and before we knew it, in about an hour, we had formed the song. We had so much fun with it because, obviously, our subject matter was very clearly outlined for us, but we still wanted it to have a personal, emotional “self-reflective” feel.

I think the song fits with where I am in my life right now. Its true to my experience of how the holidays suddenly mean so much more when we have someone special to share them with. Love makes everything better.
