“Thank you for the outpouring of support and well wishes. I head home tomorrow for a while, and then will go for a fishing trip with old friends, along with paddling and sailing and get myself back in good shape,” wrote the hitmaker on Facebook.

Buffett explained that he’s looking forward to performing once again and connecting with concert-goers.

“Once I am in shape, we will look at the when’s and where’s of shows. I think playing is as therapeutic for me as it is for fans to listen and sing along,” he added.

Buffett traveled to Boston for a check-up last week (May 18), but wound up in the hospital. The unexpected situation forced the platinum-selling artist to postpone a Charleston, South Carolina show. Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band were expected to hit the stage at Charleston’s Credit One Stadium on Saturday, May 20.

A new Charleston date has not been announced. Buffett clarified that he’s working on an updated schedule, including a string of additional stops.

“Looking forward to announcing a new date for Charleston as well as some new shows,” he shared. “Fins up!”

Buffett previously promised that his health wouldn’t get in the way of his music career. He made light of the unexpected situation and said, “growing old is not for sissies.” Buffett assured his community in Charleston that he would be back in no time.

“I also will promise you, that when I am well enough to perform, that is what I’ll be doing in the land of She-Crab soup,” he said. “You all make my life more meaningful and fulfilled than I would have ever imagined as a toe-headed little boy sitting on the edge of the Gulf of Mexico.”

Tickets will be “honored for the new date.” His team advised fans to look out for an email with more details or contact their point-of-purchase.

Days before Buffett received medical attention, he was in the studio with Lennie Gallant in Canada. This is far from the first time the 76-year-old had to cancel a handful of shows. Buffett had to pull out of his 2022 touring schedule in September to prioritize his health. The health concern remains unclear.
